Doug and Ramona will be spearheading the beekeepers display at Sky Meadow this year for National Honey Bee Day August 20, 2016. They usually setup by 11am and tear down around 4pm. It is always a fun time and has good attendance. Contact Doug and Ramona at firstname.lastname@example.org
6. ARBOR FEST October 2016 Blandy from 9:30am-4:00pm exact two days TBD
If you are a club member we could use you to stand at our booth and answer questions for the people who attend this event. You can sign up for a two hour shift and you can sell your honey both while you are there and when you are not. We keep track of what you bring and what of yours we sell. There will be more information at our September meeting at our new meeting place in Winchester. Helping set up and break down our display/tent is also helpful. You can do this even if this is your first year. I did and found out I did not have to defer any questions to other experienced beekeepers who were at the tent. It is a great way to gain confidence if you need it to speak to the public about bees. I am sure you have all done this to your family and friends. Please consider taking a shift or two. Sell your honey also.
7. Coordinator of the BONS Mentorship program
Would you like to help the club with a project behind the scenes? We need someone to coordinate getting those members who volunteer to be a mentor to be hooked up with new members who take the class. If you have a question before you commit please contact Rusty our president. We got this program off the ground a couple of years ago with Branson taking on the challenge. We now need someone to pick up the ball and take this valuable role to new heights. Please consider helping our club and new beekeepers. In the meantime we will have new beekeepers meeting existing member at club meetings where we will provide the opportunity for those who want to mentor to meet those in need.
more opportunities coming check back…..
Do you have a talent a some time to help our club? Tell Rusty and we have numerous opportunities for you to take our club to new levels.
We always need help before and after the monthly meetings to help set up chairs and put them back. This is a way to help and not have to be “in charge” of something. THANKS!
