Much of the Lagoon’s good windward ability is due to the fixed keels. While you still have the shoal draft that is one of the cat’s major advantages, a good keel will significantly reduce leeway. A look astern on a beam reach with winds gusting to 25 knots true will show a clean wake, with nearly a rooster tail from each hull as the boat gets into the low double digits of speed!
